   Was there any other homestead areas that you came across in this area? My great grandfather has a 300 acre land patent in this area I’d like to visit

     About 4 miles south, in McMaughn Canyon, there’s McIntosh Place. That’s the only other one I can remember seeing nearby offhand. Overall though, there’s a bunch of old cabins in the Schell Creek Range, many are marked on maps of the area. I’m using caltopo for maps. If you look at the Scanned Topos or Forest Service map layers, you’ll see many old cabins marked throughout the range.
